Coffee brews in the kitchen, someone is already out by the pool, and the dining table fills up with plates and plans for the day. By evening, the whole family is back in the great room: a rematch on the pool table, a line at the Ms. Pac-Man machine, and your soldier finally stretched out on the sectional. The White Hummingbird was designed for exactly these weekends, when everyone you love is under one roof and there is room for all of them. THE LAYOUT The home is a single-story layout with a few steps at the front porch, the back deck, and one step up into the great room. The front door opens into a bright library nook that flows into the dining room and kitchen. A central hallway leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms, and the great room sits at the back of the house, with the deck, lawn, and pool just outside. LIVING ROOM Vaulted ceilings, a brick fireplace wrapped in built-in shelves, and a deep navy sectional big enough for the whole family. Ceiling fans keep the air moving, and the 65" TV is ready for movie night. It is one open room that holds both the lounge and the game area, so nobody gets left out. KITCHEN Sage-green cabinets, bright white counters, and stainless appliances, including a gas range, French-door fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. The coffee corner has a coffee maker and electric kettle, and you will find cutting boards, a full knife block, a blender, cookware, and glassware for evening toasts. A window over the sink lets in morning light, and the kitchen opens right to the dining room so the cook never misses the conversation. DINING AREA A long wooden table set in blue and white, with tall windows, navy curtains, and arched bookshelves on either side. Mornings here mean coffee and sunlight. Evenings mean platters passed down the table, a board game after dinner, and one more story about basic training. A high chair is ready for the youngest guest. BEDROOM 1 The primary suite: a king bed with crisp white linens, fan-pattern wallpaper, an upholstered bench, dressers, and a wall TV. The en-suite bathroom is right through the door, so this room feels like its own retreat. A pack 'n play can be set up here for traveling babies. BEDROOM 2 Two queen beds, bright windows, rattan-front nightstands, and a full-length mirror. Great for siblings or cousins sharing a room. BEDROOM 3 Two queen beds beneath a wall of handwoven baskets, with two single trundles for extra sleepers. Teal throws and soft upholstered headboards make it the natural sleepover room for kids and teens. Please note: this room has no air conditioning; a fan is provided. BEDROOM 4 A queen bed on a navy upholstered frame, Santorini-blue artwork, rattan poufs, a ceiling fan, and its own wall-mounted AC unit. Quiet and bright, for the early riser or a couple who wants a little space. BATHROOMS Bathroom 1 (en-suite): sage vanity, arched mirror, and a tub-shower lined in gray subway tile with built-in niches and brass fixtures. A hair dryer is on hand. Bathroom 2 (hallway): tub-shower combo, sage vanity, and dark-framed mirror. Bathroom 3: corner glass shower, with the stacked washer and dryer right beside it. OUTDOOR AREAS Step out onto the deck under the string lights, then down to a wide green lawn surrounded by a wood privacy fence. The private in-ground pool is the heart of the yard, with an outdoor sectional under market umbrellas for the ones who would rather watch than swim. Fire up the gas grill for an after-ceremony cookout while the kids splash and the dog explores the fenced yard. Out front, a covered porch with a railing welcomes you home. LIBRARY Just inside the front door, two navy armchairs and a pair of side tables make a quiet reading corner that looks through to the dining room. A good spot for a first cup of coffee or a phone call home. GAME ROOM The game side of the great room: a blue-felt pool table under the vaulted ceiling, a classic Ms. Pac-Man cabinet, a basketball arcade, and board games on the shelves. Cheer from the sectional, or grab a cue and settle the family rivalry. NEIGHBORHOOD A quiet residential neighborhood in Columbus, close to Britt David Park and a short drive to grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping. Fort Benning is about 10 miles away, Columbus Airport (CSG) about 5 miles, and Uptown Columbus, the RiverWalk, and whitewater rafting on the Chattahoochee are an easy drive. A strong fit for graduation and family weekends, PCS and relocation stays, and crews working in the area on longer assignments. Picture the last night of the trip: the grill still warm, the string lights glowing, and everyone around the table one more time before the goodbyes. That is the weekend we built this house for.
